Monday update

Our Lord continues to bless us with an abundance of support from family and friends.
Kudos to Darlene who took the time today to walk my very exuberant dog Rustler. That was a real big help; as I felt this morning that today Jurgen would need me close by his side. And sure enough---it was a rather trying day. But God showed His knidness by giving him a very kind nurse by the name of Becky. She was so attentive and concerned.

Please pray for Jurgen as he has moments of anxiety that are really hard for him.

Thanks to the many who have provided meals. It really helps after a long day.
It has also been a great help to have people drive with me to the hospital and sit either in the waiting area or visit with Jurgen. He does enjoy the visits---even if he often drifts off to sleep (no need to be offended--this is common).

He was up and walking 2x today. Most of his tubes are out. But, he is dismayed that the nose trumpet and the feeding tube will most likely have to stay in for many weeks (But then again--who knows what God may do).

  1. Good to hear of God's kindness in placing people in our lives when we need them (nurse, Becky)! Jurgen, I'm remembering the kind words of support and encouragement you shared with me during my cancer treatments. I'm praying for your strength as God continues to work His purpose in and through your life.

Yea, we're joking. Jurgen I'm missing you already at the office but your job now is even more important than any other. Stay strong! Follow good advice. Always recall the love that surrounds you when you feel sad or weak, because it is here, WE are here. Love to you both,Jamer and Taz.

  5. Hi, Kathy and Jurgen Lou and I continue to pray for your physical and emotional strength. Recently I've been reading about how important it is to take control of your mind when it drifts to the negative. I personally have been down a few paths that have dark shadows cast over them and I know that God's word is the one reliable thing that can chase them away. Our thoughts affect our attitudes and moods. Here are some of His words that have comforted me. "The Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations." Psalm 100:5, "For You have been a shelter for me, a strong tower from the enemy. Psalm 61:3, Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10, "We have thought,O God, on your lovingkindness, in the midst of your temple." Psalm 48:9, "Therefore, my spirit is overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is distressed. I remember the days of old;I meditate on all Your works; I muse on the work of Your hands. I spread out my hands to You; my souil longs for you like a thirsty land." Psalm 143: 4-6 As a close friend of ours said recently, there's a whole great book of these kinds of encouragements, each one is like a Malley's chocolate. Each one is better than the last. Love, Judy and Lou
